What is DotA?How it works and why!

Introduction to DotA

What is DotA?
DotA
stands for Defense of The Ancients.
It's a custom Map that is created by IceFrog.
It's a Team Game that is played on the Warcraft 3 Platform, where one side is the Sentinel and the other side is the Scourge. It's basically a Light VS Dark, Good VS Evil kind of game where one side must bring down the other.

DotA is a 5v5 team game where heroes defend and attack the other side in order to ensure their own survivability. Each player will chose and control a hero for their team, where the hero will help defend and become stronger with experience gained when he levels up.

Heroes gain access to all kinds of items, skills and spells as he moves around the map and kills enemy's soldiers which are commonly known as creeps. The heroes gain gold over time as well as bounty when enemies are killed by themselves.

The Whole DotA Map is separated by a river into 2 parts.

At each end of the map holds that side's throne, which are both blocked by 3 towers on each lanes.

The Sentinel Throne - The world Tree

The Scourge Throne - The frozen Throne

On the map there are 3 lanes, the top, the middle and the bottom. Both these thrones are defended by 3 towers on each lanes, where each towers are tougher along the way leading to the thrones.
And once all the 3 towers on that single lane are destroyed, then you are allowed to attack the throne on that lane. Destroying the throne means it's a win for your team and the game ends.
