Fog of War
Information
There are two kinds of Fog of War: Black and Grayed. When viewing the map, black areas have not yet been explored, while grayed areas have been explored but are not currently within sight range of the player's own or allied units or buildings. Although terrain can be seen through the grayed areas, enemy troop movements are hidden. Some skills don't work when the target moves out of sight and into the fog, like Malefice.
Sometimes, burst visual effects in the Fog of War are delayed. This means that if the visual effect was in the Fog of War when it was initially played, it will not be shown. However, when that location is later within sight range (ie. not in the Fog anymore), it will be re-played to the player. This kind of effects include the visual effects of Shadow Fiend's Shadowraze, Slayer's Light Strike Array, and Obsidian Destroyer's Sanity's Eclipse.
Enemy buildings that are destroyed while covered by Fog of War will still look as if they were not destroyed to a player. The model of the building will still be in the Grayed Fog of War and the square icon will still remain on the minimap. When the building's spot is within sight range later, the player will see that the building is not there and the model and the square icon will no more stay even if Fog of War covers there once again.
Ways to Rid Fog of War
An in-game singleplayer cheat known as "iseedeadpeople" allows you to remove Fog of War and see everything in the map. When viewing a replay, you can also remove the fog by unchecking the "Remove Fog of War" box.
